What Causes Skin Darkening Around Genitals With Itching Sometimes?
i am 43 and i have pigmant loss around my genetils and inner thighs as well as darker patches of skin on inner thighs and on penis. it sometimes itches bad but other times does not itch at all. there are no raised levels on the borders of the brownish patches or the pigmant loss. what could this be

Hi..
darkening of genitalia is mainly due to the hormonal action of adrenocorticotropic hormone secreted by the pituitary glands.
this hormone has melanogenic activity and stimulate melanin synthesis in genital area.
the itching in this area is mainly due to friction and repeated attacks of Tinea cruise which needs to be treated by Oral as well as topical antifungal.
