Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Skin Growth Near Anus, Blood In Stool And Recurrent Constipation?
I have a skin outgrowth near anus which is not painful. I believe it has grown up in size slowly over the last 10 odd years. Plus I have this recurrent problem of gas and constipation. Are they linked? I was scared about possible cologne cancer symptoms. I haven t been losing weight though I suspect I have spotted blood in stool a few times.
Hello and welcome to HCM, First of all I will take up the issue of blood in stools. Presence of visible blood in stools can be due to haemorrhoids or piles and cancer of the large intestine. (Colon is a part of colon). Presence of growth near the anus which has grown over past 10 years could be due to haemorrhoids or piles; warts or even a growth extending out from rectum or anus. A history of loss of weight is alarming since it is indicative of serious lesion like cancer. Associated gas and constipation needs to be correlated with other findings - they can be associated or may be unrelated with these symptoms. I suggest you to consult a gastroenterologist for clinical assessment of the anal growth and colonoscopy to look for any lesion.
Thanks and take care Dr Shailja Puri
