Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Skin Inflammation On The Lower Lumbar Region And The Shoulder?
I have been experiencing burning sensation of the skin that moves along my left arm, shoulder and back of shoulder. It is sometimes along my lower lumbar area as well. I have not noticed any blistering that would indicate shingles. I have tried Tricalm and Capzasin creams which has helped slightly.
Pain in the lower lumbar region can be because of sciatica, posture, sedentary life, over worked up muscles & spine, herniated disc, Stenosis, fibromyalgia, etc. Shoulder pain is associated with the wrong posture, frozen shoulder, cuff tear, spondylitis, OA, etc.
Visit the ER, get a thorough physical examination & health check-up done. Neurological disorders do cause such symptoms & Shingles may be associated with it. Get all required investigations done, so that you can be evaluated. Your treatment will depend upon the pathology detected. In the meantime, do regular exercises, stay away from addictions. Apply Capzacin cream in the area affected.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K, General & Family Physician
