What Causes Skin Rashes On The Chin And Lips While Suffering From Cold?

I have been dealing with a cold for a bit over a week. I began having skin lesions on my chin and lips that I treated with my steroid and non-steroidal ointments, assuming they were eczema flares. To my surprise, they worsened. Thursday morning, my eyelids were puffy and swollen. I saw my PCP Thursday and started taking Augmenting by 1 pm. She assumed impetigo. Thursday evening, conjunctivitis began. My PCP said that she thought the antibiotic would take care of the conjunctivitis if it were bacterial?. Now, Saturday about 4:30 am, neither the skin lesions nor conjunctivitis have improved at all. My questions : 1) when would you expect the antibiotic to have kicked in? 2) do you think I should see someone at my local emergency room? Please forgive me: I thought this was free. I must withdraw my request.
