What Causes Skin To Be Red And Tight After Using Sunbed?

Hi there, I went on a sunbed yesterday after getting off my skin was fine half an hour later it was really red and tight and it has got worse through the night I have woken this morning with very swollen eyes and all around my nose I look a different person that s how bad it is what shall I do ??

Hello. Thanks for writing to us at healthcaremagic

Probably you have sunburnt yourself. A sunburnt skin is usually red and may feel tight because of edema.
If I was the treating doctor I would have started you on a short course of oral steroids e.g perdnisolone for a week or 10 days.
Topically I would suggest a moderately potent topical steroid e.g fluticasoen propionate cream, twice daily.
Steroids are antinflammatory and therefore would help to bring down redness, swelling and discomfort.
These are prescription products therefore I would suggest that you to talk to your doctor for the needful.
