What Causes Skipped Heart Beats After A C Section?

I just had a C section 3 days ago and I just started feeling my heart skipping a beat I was wondering if that is normal? Or could it be from being exhausted? I also have 3 different heart conditions (mvp with regurge, patent foreamin ovale, and a murmur) ***I was just discharged from the hospital today

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Skipped heartbeat after a C-section should be reported to the treating surgeon.

You are suggested to get physically examined & get investigations done to check your vitals since you have a history of Patent foramen ovale, MVP with regurgitation & murmur.

Do not let it go neglected if you are having the symptoms. Get treated. Such symptoms can arise due to exhaustion, anemia, poor general health condition.

Hormonal, autonomic and emotional changes can trigger such symptoms.

Take adequate sleep & nutritious diet. Stay away from stress & anxiety.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Nupur K, General & Family Physician
