What Causes Skipped Heartbeats Along With Abdominal Bloating And Indigestion?

I have been having skipped heartbeat and gassy with indigestion. I have had skipped heartbeats since I was in my early 20 s. But several months ago, they just kept skipping every few minutes. I saw a heart dr, and he put me on 25mg of metoprolol. That seemed to have worked. But now they are back. But I also am having a lot of indigestion. Could the indigestion be triggering it? I also have a lot of grassiness too.

Hello,

If the ECG examination showed nothing concerning to the heart then this is reassuring. Your symptoms may be related to anxiety which may cause both heart rhythm changes and also bowel issues. Checking the thyroid to rule out thyroid problems is good as well (TSH and FT4 blood tests).

if the thyroid is normal and the ECG was normal then anxiety is very likely and you might need to talk with your doctor and have a proper examination to finally determine the diagnosis and better treatment plan.
