What Causes Skipped Heartbeats While On Flecainide Acetate?
I am on flecainide acetate 50 mg a day. I went on it about 2 years ago because my heart skips a beat if I ve had too much caffeine. I went in it because it makes me nervous knowing it does that. My doctor told me I could go off it if I wanted to. How should I wean off it? He told me if I went off it I would not have to come back to him.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Yes sir, your doctor is absolutely correct. You can straightway stop taking Flecanide. But, you need to be careful with your pulse and skip beats.
If it starts again then I think you should consult your doctor to find out the cause for skip beats. I would also suggest to reduce caffeine intake just to avoid those symptoms. Wish you speedy recovery.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Mrugank Bhavsar
