What Causes Sleep Paralysis While Suffering From Nose Congestion?

Some nights when I go to sleep, my nose gets stuffed and I m literally fighting to wake up. I literally felt like I was suffocating and was telling myself to open my mouth so I could breath but was having a hard time waking myself up. Heard myself making frantic noises as I was trying to wake up to breathe. When I did wake up, my nose was stuffy and I was breathing through my mouth. This has happened more than once -- so I ve sleep with pillows on a 45 degree angle to help with my breathing. It s very frightening because I feel like I m suffocating and I m literally fighting to wake up to breathe.
