What Causes Sleeping Problems?

Hello. I ve been having trouble sleeping at night. Prescription pills don t work. My cardio Dr. Suggested a glass of red wine at night. I m 76 years old and drank alcohol for over 30 years. Is this a good idea and if so, what would be a good wine to try?

Psychiatrist 's  Response
Hi.

I had gone through your query.

Alcohol does not help much in sleep problems. In long term it will cause psychological disturbances also. So better to avoid it.

Many a times sleeping pills can not be useful. Proper psychological evaluation will give more confirmatory ideas regarding mental status.

Sleep disorder can be further categorized in primary and secondary. Proper diagnosis may help in treatment.

Go for psychiatric evaluation for better treatment.
Consult psychiatrist and get help.

I hope i have answered your query.
Thank you.
