What Causes Sleeplessness And Depression While Taking Tofranil?

Hi, I am Trudy I was prescribed tofranil HCl 25 about 6 wks ago by my Urologlist I thought it was for bladder spams because Detrol LA wasn t working as well as I thought it should. I had been on it for several years. I used this Dr for at least 10 years been thru 5 bladder surgies 3 from him 3 week ago he to me gave me Rx for 50 mg but to take 2 of 25 until gone then fill 50 just read print out from pharmacy today realized it is an antidepressant. I am on Zoloft all ready he knows but when I started Tofranil I could not sleep stayed awake for days so I to 1/2 of ambiem he told me to stop. when I started on the 50 mg so depressed so angry about everything thatis no like m
