Addiction Medicine Specialist 's  Response
Hi,

This is quite a common problem. There can be direct problems with the spine, muscles, or nerves. It is most commonly not due to an actual medical problem but restless leg occurs with age.

There are a wide number of medicines that treat it and other more serious conditions like lumbar disk disease would have to also be considered.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Matt Wachsman,
