Hello!

Welcome on HCM!

Regarding your concern, I would explain that your symptoms could be related to high blood pressure.

The alcohol intake is not very helpful before sleep, because it can trigger headache.

I would recommend you to closely monitor your blood pressure values.

I would also recommend performing some other tests:

- complete blood count for anemia
- PCR, sedimentation rate for inflamamtion
- an arterial blood gas analysis
- chest X ray study and respiratory function tests for obstruction of the airways, which can lead to obstructive sleep apnea
- a brain CT scan to exclude a possible brain lesion (tumor, cyst, etc.).

A multi sleep latency tests or polysomnography would help investigate for possible sleep apnea if suspicions of this disorder are raised from the above tests and physical exam.

Hope to have been helpful!

Kind regards, Dr. Aida
