What Causes Sleeplessness While On Trazodone And Clonazepam?

My question is do I need to go to the hospital, my mental health doctor put me on Trazodone and Clonazepam and I am not sleeping well at all, having dreams of dead people my dream cycle or sleep cycle is not 8 hours, after I have a dream I wake up then I go back to sleep and this has happened since I started it, I cannot function every day for I sleep about to 4pm go to sleep at 1100 and I am so sick on the meds and I feel so drugged out.

Hello,

You have not mentioned your past illness. Since your treating doctor has prescribed you Clonazepam & Trazodone, you should continue to take it.

However, you should not become dependent on medications & when you feel better you can talk to the treating doctor so that the doses can be reduced & medications tapered. Never discontinue the medicines on your own.

Both the medications that you are taking should help you get to sleep. Since you are having dreams about dead people you should change your location or wherever you reside. Chose a better, healthier, fresher place where nothing haunts you.

Such dreams may trigger suicidal thoughts or cause hallucinations. Talk to a Psychiatrist or a counselor, make a move.
