Hi,I am Raju.A.T (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello, for the past few weeks i have been unable to sleep. I usually only get a few hours sleep a night and its starting to effect my daily life. The time i am sleeping at is around 4-5am. I have tried to change my night routines to going to bed earlier and cutting down on mobile use down before going to bed. Could you help me? I would like to keep this completely private at any cost.
Your symptoms are suggestive of a sleep disorder (insomnia). Coming to this point, I recommend taking melatonin 5-10mg before sleep every night.
If this does not help, I would recommend trying low dose of mirtazapine or Trazodone. Anyway, these drugs are only given under medical prescription. You should discuss with your doctor on the above tests.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Ilir Sharka, Cardiologist
