What Causes Sleepy Feeling After Taking Pills For Low Thyroid?

I am tired all the time. I try to do handy man stuff around the house but poop out rapidly. The doctor says my thyroid is low and has prescribed levothyroxine NA 0.025mg tabs. However, I felt better before I started taking the pills. After taking the pills for about three week snow I go around in a daze on the verge of falling to sleep or passing out. Can the pills be doing me more harm than good?

Hello and thank you for asking!
I read your query and i understood your concern.
If you thyroid hormonal level is low than it should be corrected.
The dose you are taking actually is very low but i would recommend to check the hormone level 6 weeks after starting the treatment. If it is within the normal ranges with the actual dose than your symptoms are not related to the thyroid.
We can not say that the pills are doing harm because they are substituting something that lacks in organism.
Hope the information will help.
Kind regards,
Dr.Mirjeta
