What Causes Slight Bleeding After Removing IUD?

Hi i removed my iud 4 and a half days ago not on any birth control yet. Had it for 4 years. And yesterday morning after having one small amount of blood period when i urinated after that non on pad or anything until few hours later and still now i have had brown discharge everytime i wipe . No bloods or red at all since. Have had back pane last 5 days and been exhausted more than usualy the last few weeks and had real bad headaches and had some cramping yeaterday. Also my leg is cramped as of yeaterday. Could i be pregnant? I have an 11 year old but dont remember the signs.

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,

When was your last period? Is there any fever or nausea? As the IUD was removed only 4 days back, I don't think it is pregnancy. Rather, we have to consider any genital tract infection in the back ground of discharge, cramps, body pains and headache.

If there is no fever and the discharge is not foul smelling, try taking Paracetamol tablets 3 times daily after food for 3 days. This will relieve aches and pains. Also, drink enough fluids. If not getting better in 2-3 days, we can evaluate further.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
