What Causes Slight Vaginal Bleeding Along With Abdominal Contractions During Pregnancy?

My daughter is 45 and 9 weeks pregnant she started slight bleeding 2 nights ago with no contractions then the next day started having pains and burning sensation and contraction like feeling in pelvic area and blood in urine. Today still bleeding and contractions about 30 seconds apart. What if she pushes? Will that cause a major problem?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Unfortunately bleeding and pain at this stage of pregnancy may signal that there may be complications of the pregnancy.

It is possible that she may unfortunately have a miscarriage.
At this early stage of pregnancy, no measures are normally used to stop a miscarriage.

She should consider seeing her doctor to see if this is occurring. Examination and an ultrasound , may be needed.

I hope this helps
