What Causes Slow Movement In Left Hand And Balancing Issues After A Stroke?

Dear Doctor, My father suffered from a stroke a month back, he can sit and walk, but his left hand side movement is very slow and he drops his shoulder while walking and also looses his balance while walking kindly prescribe any medicine and how much time will it take to heal?

hi! patients with stroke usually had hemiplegia or paralysis/ weakness on the other side of the body. in the case of your father probably the affected portion is the distribution of the Right Middle cerebral artery. there are actually 2 types of stroke, the infarct - means ther's a blockage that causes the decrease in blood supply on that area, and the bleed - which is more serious because it would depend on the amount that will require surgery.
in the case of your father, its a good sign that he can still move his Left side of the body. submit your father to physical therapist to aid in the return of his normal function in his Left side of the body. then, continue all the medications as prescribe by your attending physician during hospital discharge and do a follow-up check up.
