What Causes Slurred Speech And Bell S Palsy After Seizure?
My son age 6 1/2 has had two episodes of possible seizures, his mouth goes down on one side, is slurring his words and slivers alot, its lasts around 10-15 mins in total, he is awake the entire time and has full leg/arm movement, he looks like he has had a Stoke, the hospital have mentioned focal seizures but reading the symptoms it does not appear to match, I think it is an mini Stoke but due to his age they are dubious. I fear he may have a full Stoke before they correctly diagnose him. Do you have any advice please.

As per your query you have slurred speech and Bell s palsy after seizure . Well the symptoms you mention in query can occur due to many reasons like an allergic reaction , side effect , result of sensitivity to sunlight , eczema and seborrheic dermatitis . But in your case it seems to me that the symptoms are due to shingles or zoster or herpes zoster . Shingles is caused by the varicella zoster virus , the same virus that causes chickenpox. I would suggest you to consult doctor for proper evaluation . Doctor may prescribe antiviral drugs like acyclovir, valacyclovir, and famciclovi along with analgesic for pain . For now apply moisturizer on rashes . Facial muscle exercises and physical therapy will help a lot .
