What Causes Slurred Speech And Balancing Difficulty?

Hi. I am very worried about my husband. He is acting drunk--slurred speech, speaking loudly, trouble with balance and reasoning, euphoric and obnoxious but hasn t been drinking. Earlier today he seemed paranoid and convinced I was going to leave him. But he hasn t been drinking. There s no alcohol on his breath and no evidence of alcohol consumption. I am very, very worried.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,
Welcome to the HCM.
He needs promptly medical attention.Since these symptoms can als.o occur due to any medicine overdose, delerium (confusion) and stroke (cerebellum) due to high B.P.I would also like to know wether he is hypertensive or has high blood sugar problem, and if he is taking any medicine?
To rule out any of above cause I would suggest get checked by physician nearby thoroughly and get done some routine test and drug intoxication test ,as per need.
Regards,
Dr.Maheshwari
