Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have numerous small bruises about the size of a nickel or so, on my left leg from about 5 inches above to about 3 inchel below the knee. I keep getting new ones. Now it is starting on my right leg and wrists. I probably have about 20-30 on left leg and about 8 now on my right leg. About 2+ weeks ago I sprained my ankle but have not injured the area where the bruising is. This is a first for me.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice. Bruising on legs may be just due to wear and tear if you are physically very active. May be repeated small injuries to hands and legs.
Apart from that do you have any other problems since childhood? Hemophilia, idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura and many of the other bleeding disorders are some conditions where there there might be bruising without any trauma. Kindly go to a physician and get detailed evaluation.
Hope I have answered your question. Feel free to contact me if you have any more questions. I ll be glad to help you.
All the best.
With warm regards, Dr. Sanjay Kini
