What Causes Small Cell Lung Cancer?

My sister has been diagnosed with extensive small cell lung cancer. within 3 days of diagnosis she had her lung colapse when they tried to implant a chemo port then developed pnemonia, she has improved since being placed on a ventalator last sunday and now they want to begin chemo. I received a copy of the pathoogy report today from the bronchospy done 2 days ago. I am trying my best to support her and her family is of low income with both her and her husband on disabilty. Is there a free resource that would be able to review her patho0logy report f I emailed it and perhaps provide some validation that chemo must start immediately. I have gotten her some natural products which have been shown to support her recovery with or without chemo and want to make sure she is getting the best treatment she can have for her conditio,.

Hello dear.SCLC is an aggressive subtype of lung cancer. Without treatment, in a few weeks it could be fatal. It is important to determine if the cancer is limited or at an extensive stage. Limited-stage cancer is treated with chemotherapy and radiation. Extensive-stage cancer is treated with chemotherapy alone.Good luck
