What Causes Small Circular Bruise On Left Bicep And Right Arm?

My husband keeps getting a softball sized bruise on his left bicep. He also developed a smaller bruise on his right arm. Neither hurt and they are both very dark purple and he doesn t recall hitting his arms. He s also scheduled to meet with a cardiologist. Could this be related?

Pathologist and Microbiologist 's  Response
Hello,

Recurrent bruise in bicep can be due to disorder of platelets, coagulation or vessel wall. I suggest you to consult a hematologist for clinical assessment and investigations - platelet count, prothrombin time, INR, activated partial thromboplastin time and thrombin time. These investigations will determine the cause of these symptoms.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
