What Causes Small Dotted Slightly Raised Spots On The Skin?

6 1/2 month old girl has small dotted slightly raised spots. Started on back of R neck about 3 weeks ago and now a few scattered dots on back, a couple on legs, thigh, and back of scalp. Even small dot on L forehead. No fever, no itching. Do not seem to bother her. Blanch for the most part when touched. Do not seem to worsen with food. Have not changed laundry detergent. But they are not getting better and more seem to appear.

Hi Dear ,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query your daughter have small dotted slightly raised spots on the skin acne which occur when duct of sebaceous gland get blocked and infected by bacteria. It could be due to allergic reaction, dermatitis and dehydration as well. I would suggest you to exfoliate your skin to remove dead skin and bacteria. Wash skin with mild soap twice a day. Give diet rich in multivitamins and drink plenty of water. If condition persists even after this then consult dermatologist for proper evaluation of your condition . Doctor may prescribe antibiotics , isotretinoin containing ointment or procedures like chemical peel or laser therapy.
