What Causes Small Growth On The Tip Of Tongue?

I have a growth near the tip of my tongue that's probably been there for at least 2 years I want it removed. I'm been putting this off way too long. What kind of Dr do I need to see to perform this procedure and please tell me I won't be awake for it.

Hi..
Thanks for the query..

As per your complain a small growth at the tip of tongue can be an commonly overgrown tongue papillae due to long standing irritation or it can be due to fibrous overgrowth known as Fibroma.

You should consult an Oral surgeon and get evaluated and after proper evaluation it can be removed surgically under local anaesthesia and a biopsy can be done of the excised tissue to rule out the nature of the growth that whether it is benign or malignant..

Hope this helps..

Regards..
