What Causes Small Hard Bump On Tongue After Cavity Filling?
I had five hours of dental work done Friday. Crowns & cavities filled under general anesthesia. Today I noticed a hard, small bump with my tongue, on my gums. I pushed on it with my finger & felt & heard a 'pop' then tasted an odd taste, either medicinal or metallic possible taste??? Any idea what this may be and/or if I need to go back in?
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain a small hard bump on gums after a long dental session which released a smelly discharge can be a gum boil that is formed due to injury to the gums by a dental instrument leading to deeper impaction of bacteria and there is pus formation..
Nothing to worry, consult your dentist and he can do a localized scaling of the area so that infection can be removed followed by gum paint application..
A short course of antibiotics and anti-inflammatory painkillers can also help..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
