What Causes Small Hard Lump Under The Eye?

I have a small round hard lump under my skin near my eye above the tear area. It itches a little. I think it s been there since last Febr. after I changed my eye makeup. I went to an Opthamologist who didn t even say he would remove it, but that it would go away on it s on. I have heard that cysts can grow roots that can spread, and then be harder to remove. Is this true? I don t want this thing to grow roots into my eye area.

Hello,

This could be a cyst or local infection. I recommend using tetracycline ointment locally. If this lump does not go away or even grows, I would recommend consulting again with the ophthalmologist.
