What Causes Small Itchy Red Bumps On Scrotum?

I have recently noticed small mildly itchy red bumps on my scrotum. They started out to be just red in color, but after approximately 3 or 4 days I noticed a very small black dot in the center. The bumps very much resemble an ingrown hair or more closely to a pimple in size as well as in color and sensitivity (of when I itch it). The black dot in the center is no bigger around then that of a blackhead on a pimple. I have one at the top of my scrotum near the base of my penis, and another 2 almost touching each other but directly beside each other near the bottom of my scrotum. I say they are only mildly itchy because they don t cause me much discomfort and aren t itchy enough to be a nuisance. But if I notice a little bit of an itch down there as is quite common with men and happen to scratch any of these bumps I ve just recently acquired, they do tend to be a little tender and sensitive. But throughout the course of the day I m not having to be digging at it so to say. As one might do if he/she has chicken pox or something of that nature. I have done some research online looking up pictures to try and self diagnose this and the two closest related results I could find strictly based on images where the following: Molluscum Contagiosum, or Nodular Scabies. But I m still un-sure just what this is. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated!!! Thanks in advance, Zedd P.S. I do plan on calling my doctor in the morning to set up an appointment to have him examine it and see what he says. But I m just trying to get any advice that I can right now before I go in to see him.typically pays fairly booked up so even though I m going to call in the morning it might be a week before I can get in.so just trying to figure out what this says or get any information regarding this ASAP. So with that being said any answers can exclude things like but always consult with your doctor , or the only way to tell for sure would be to have someone actually physically examine it for that is precisely what I plan to do. As embarrassing as it might be to have him examine my scrotum. Since when I went in to get a std check up last year he said I had to be erect to preform the check and then proceeded without warning to touch and stroke my penis. Idk if this is normal but it made me VERY uncomfortable!!

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

The eruption of red small bumps with itching over them involving scrotum indicates dermatitis eruptions most likely from perspiration issue. My guidelines at present:
- Local cleansing with antiseptic liquids or soap
- Apply neomycin or polymycin ointment over the affected area
- Wear loose, clean, cotton inner wears, avoid tight jeans or undergarments
- Avoid hair trimming or shaving of private parts at present
- Control of blood sugar
- Anti histamine tablet as cetrizine or diphenhydramine
- Discuss the need of any antibiotics with your primary care after examination

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
