General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi,
The small nodules in the groin you have are lymph nodes. Enlargement of these nodes indicate some infection in the legs up to groin, genitals or buttocks and back below the iliac crest, or abdomen below the umbilicus. You should look for any source of infection in these areas. The infection follows with fever, inflammation and pain. If you have these. Please consult your doctor for antibiotics. If you don't have any symptoms: - Be careful about cleanliness of the parts likely to be involved - Observe the lymph nodes for increase in size / any of the symptoms mentioned above.
Hard and growing or infected lymph nodes need doctor's advice.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Vasudha Jayant Athavale, General & Family Physician
