Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi I have a small nodule at the back of my testis that was checked by an urologyst a year back and he told me it is nothing to worry about. It is just a nodule on the tail of epididymis. Now couple of days back I found that the tail like portion is become like a small lump, little hard and it seems it is connected to testis. Could you please tell me if this is normal or not. I am very much worried.
Hello Thanks for query. Based on your statement I would state that you have what is called as Cyst of Epididymis(Spermatocele). This can be confirmed on Ultrasound Scanning of scrotum.
Spermatocele is a benign cyst that develops in tail of epididymis due to partial obstruction and contains clear fluid .
It is always benign in nature and does not need any treatment .
Treatment is needed very rarely if it increases in size or becomes painful.
