What Causes Small Painful Lumps On The Upper Arm?

I have a bulge on my upper arm. No discoloration to the skin, feels different, like the edges around it have little lumps. Kind of oval in shape. Had it for about 6-8 weeks. It is painful to reach up and pick up a glass or to carry my purse or anything heavy with that arm. Seems to have gotten larger to where my clothes seem to irritate the skin. What kind of an issue could I be experiencing?

It can be a non-cancerous lump like a lipoma. Consult a general surgeon and plan for an MRI scan.
