What Causes Small Pimple On Wrist With History Of Cellulitis?

I have a small hot pimple on the inside of my left wrist. I have edema in that arm due to removal of lymph nodes 25 years ago after a mastectomy. I had cellulitis a couple of years ago in that arm so I am concerned about this new development. Do you know what it might be?

Hello,

I can understand your concern for hair small pimple on wrist with history of cellulitis.

Let me first reassure you that your small pimple has got no relationship with cellulitis or with mastectomy. After analyzing the query it seems that you have developed simple infection of the area of hair root which has got inflamed.

In my cases with such kind of problem I prefer to give a proper antibiotic therapy which is very much required along with anti-inflammatory drugs.

In my patients I prefer to give higher antibiotic cefixime with clavulinic acid in proper dose.

An anti-inflammatory tablet such as paracetamol or ibuprofen or diclofenac for 2 times day is quite beneficial to reduce the inflammation and pain.

Do to try to squeeze or burst the area as can get further infected and spreaded up.

All the best.
