What Causes Small Purple Vein Looking Marks On The Sides Of My Tongue

I have several small purple, vein looking marks on the sides of my tongue and under my tongue as well. Also, for several years, on and off, I get an irritated area on the sides of my tongue which hurts for one or two days then goes away till maybe the next week, then another area gets affected. What could this be.

hello thanks for consulting at hcm..it could be migratory glossitis since it occurs on one area and heals ,again occurs in another area,,the under surface of the tongue has veins but ur is prominent u r telling, it is called varicosities of veins,,treatment for migratory glossitis is apply topical anesthetics and antifungals may be needed and kindly consult a oral medicine specialist for a check up and treatment,,hope it helps,,tc
