Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have small raised bumps on my legs and arms. As they grow larger they begin to peel and I can see a little red eruption in the center. No itching of soreness. As they begin to leave they look like ring worm but my doctor says that is not what it is. Can you help me find an answer?
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have small raised bumps on legs and arms which is very common as dirt and moisture get trapped by your clothing and the friction that comes from sitting can cause pimple. It could be due to blockage of sebaceous glands leading to folliculitis or boils. There can also be other reasons like contact dermatitis , eczema or psoriasis . Need not to worry. I would suggest you to keep this area clean and dry , apply cream containing azelaic acid , apply warm compresses with soaked towel and apply vitamin C serum at night. If condition doesn't get better then consult dermatologist for proper examination . Doctor will examine physically along with blood test and sample for lab test . Doctor may prescribe immunosuppressants , antibiotics like clindamycin , anti inflammatory or anti fungal . Doctor may also prescribe benzoyl peroxide ointment . You can also take anti histamine like benadryl.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
