What Causes Small Red Itchy Spots On Tragus?

The cartilage on the outside of my ears have tiny red dots and are itchy, are burning and red. Also the back of my head is feeling a bit itchy too. My first thought was lice, but my husband checked my head and does not see any sign of that. What do you think this could be?

Hello and welcome to HCM,
Red tiny dots on tragus could be due to some kind of allergy.
Allergies are characterized by red bumps and itchy lesions.
Other skin lesions like dermatitis and eczema can also lead to itchy lesion on the skin.
Head lice is usually associated with itchy scalp and lymph node enlargement.
I suggest you to consult a dermatologist for clinical assessment of the red bumps on tragus for diagnosis.
Treatment will depend on the diagnosis.
Allergy is treated with anti-allergic ointments.
Dermatitis and eczema have specific treatment.
However, treatment can be decided after diagnosis only.

Thanks and take care
