What Causes Small Red Ring Like Spot On Finger Leading To Tingling Sensation?

Hello, I have a small red ring on my finger. It doesn t itch and isn t raised. It has very small non raised dots that are redder than the circle. It feels weird on my one finger, a little tingly on that one spot. But that s all I m experiencing. I m not sure if it s a type of ring worm, or some other fungal infection or just an infection in general. I have been using coconut oil to treat it and it is starting to fade away. I want to make sure it won t just come back when I stop using it.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms seem to be related to a fungal infection. I suggest to use an anti fungal cream for local application such as Clotrimazole cream. I also suggest using an anti-fungal medication such as Fluconazole 150 mg daily for three days.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
