What Causes Small Red Spots On The Body While Treating Mild Fatty Liver?

Hello, I have a slight fatty liver. I have been taking milk thistle for over one year. I also drink dandelion tea. I eat mostly fruit , vegetables and whole grains (not rice or wheat). I do not drink. I had been eating sweets about once or twice per month. About one month a go, I stopped eating sweets. Since then, I have noticed almost a doubling or tripling of tiny, pinpoint, red spots. Is it possible that the appearance of these additional spots indicate that my liver is healing or is it simply worsening? Thank you. Julie

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It is a purpuric spot also called as “Spider nevi”.

It is a part of the liver disease and will settle by itself.

No definite treatment is required.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
