What Causes Small Red Thread Like Particles In Urine?

I saw a small red thread like worm from my urine yesterday for the first time. I saw a smaller one today once in the entire day. What can be the probable reason for the same. There is no pain, nothing and every other thing seems OK. Please help, I am too much worried. What can be the probable cause and how can it be cured. Is it a very serious thing?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It could be a urine cast. Various types of urinary casts are there and they indicates stone disease or urinary tract infection. Go for a urine routine and microscopic examination to confirm the diagnosis. As of now drink plenty of water to keep yourself hydrated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Wishing you all the best.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
