What Causes Smelly Lumps On The Throat?

I have been getting grayish, spongy lumps stuck on back right side of my throat. I can feel the lump with the back of my tongue & when I swallow. I ve tried gargling, coughing, etc. to dislodge it, but that doesn t work. Then, it will dislodge & I cough it up. Smells awful. What is it? I thought maybe tonsil stones, but what I ve read doesn t sound like what I have.

Thanks for the query to HCM.I studied your problem in depth and I understood your concerns.
Treatment for Smelly lumps on back of your throat-
In my opinion you seem to have infected subacute tonsills with infected mucous plugs on them,which pains on swallowing and get cleared out after coughing it out with a bad Smell.
What's the color of the mucous plugs? yellow/ green / muddy/brownish?
Hence stop worrying about it but do check it up from ER Ent-Surgeon.
For Final Diagnosis and treatment needs clinical data from a Doctor.
and Hence for further treatment I would advise you to Consult ER Ent-Surgeon , who would treat it accordingly.
This advise is based on the facts from the history you give and needs further clinical check.
Hence I would advise you to check with ER Ent-Surgeon.
So don't build up wrong concepts and create more psychic complications in you which would increase risks and costs to you.
