Hello,
Thanks for using healthcaremagic.com
I have gone through your query and I can understand your concerns.
Probable diagnosis : chronic sinusitis
Investigations needed: routine blood investigations,CT PNS
Plan of treatment : conservative, endoscopic in selected cases
Outcome : moderate to good
All the symptoms you have mentioned suggest the possibility of a "chronic sinusitis".
As a first line therapy she needs a short course of antibiotics like "moxclav" for five to seven days. She can also take antihistamines like "cetrezine" and nasal decongestants for symptomatic relief.
Steam inhalation for twenty minutes is advised on a regular basis.
If symptom persist despite all these I suggest you to consult an ENT surgeon and get a
CT scan of her PNS(para nasal
sinuses) done.
Depending on the severity of the disease and CT findings she might require surgical intervention to treat the infection.Nowadays endoscopic procedures like FESS(functional Endoscopic
Sinus Surgery ) is the preferred procedure and it is highly effective for chronic sinusitis.
Hope this information helps.
Regards.
