What Causes Sole Swelling And Pain At The Base Of The Toes?
Hello. I am having pain on the bottom of my left foot, on the ball of my foot at the base of my toes. It is swollen and is uncomfortable when walking. I ve had no accidents other than the normal bumped toes every now and then (on both feet). I did have bunion surgery on my left foot two years ago. I am disabled so I am home most of the time. For this reason I wear my slippers (with socks) almost always. I have noticed that when i wear my closed-in slipper (with fur inside) both my feet sweat (mildly) at the same area where my left foot pain is. So... What do you think, doctor?
Hi. I can suggest you a remedy but i need your age and BMI/ weight. I also need to know if you have any skin lesions over the area. But with your history, I suggest you to get serum uric acid levels done and consult an orthopedician. Avoid wearing socks as it can trigger sweating. Additonally, some home remedies include placing the feet in luke warm water for 20-30 minutes and you can use any topical analgesic like Diclofenac gel twice a day. I also suggest you to get X ray of the foot to rule out other abnormalities like calcaneal spur. Hope this helps.
