What Causes Sore And Inflamed Throat?

Yes. I have a sore throat but it doesn't feel like my usual sore throat. I've looked in my mouth and my throat is inflamed, but only one side. It only hurts on one side too. I feel like the area of my tongue closest to my throat is also sore, though I can't see anything there.

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns....

As per your complain sore throat can be due to a number of causes like bacterial or viral throat infection, post nasal drip, acid reflux etc..
Soreness of the back of tongue also seems to be due to throat inflammation as the area is close to throat..

I would suggest you to consult an Otolaryngologist and get evaluated and treatment of the exact cause can relieve the symptoms..
As of now do warm saline gargles, steam inhalations and take Ibuprofen for pain..
Avoid spicy and hot foods to prevent irritation..
Take a soft diet ..
Take plenty of fluids..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
