What Causes Sore Breasts Along With Heavy Menstruation While On Birth Control Pills?

Hello. I am on birth control, and always get my period on Wednesdays. I got my period this Wednesday. However, lately, I have been having very sore breasts and they have been swollen. Tonight, it is even easy to see veins. I also had an abnormal amount of vaginal discharge prior to my period. Is it possible that I am pregnant?

Hello,

If you are on regular birth control pills, have taken the pills in time, did not miss the pills then your chances of getting pregnant is rare. However, if you had unprotected sex and were taking birth control pills carelessly then your symptoms may be indicative of early signs of pregnancy.

Get a urine test for pregnancy with the first morning mid-stream urine along with a blood test (beta hCG). Your management /treatment will depend on the report obtained. Do not do any heavy work, stay relaxed and take home made food rich in iron and protein.
