What Causes Sore Flesh And Heavy Leg For A 76-year-old Female?
My 76 y o mom had strike 15 yrs ago. Her right leg is very heavy and she says her flesh is sore. Can t stand things to touch it. She has uterus cancer 3 yrs ago and could only take one chemo treatment. Big blood clot in arm so was put on levnox shots which now she has grandulmas. Any ideas for sore flesh and heavy leg?
Based on the history you have shared, she needs evaluation with Doppler ultrasound as the symptoms you are mentioning can be because of deep venous thrombosis, as soreness to touch and swelling as well as with the history of malignancy before, needs evaluation as if so it may need anticoagulants therapy for next few months.
Also, local anti-inflammatory drugs like acetaminophen or Ibuprofen can be helpful for symptomatic relief.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
