What Causes Sore Neck And Tenderness Above The Collar Bones?
Hi, I need to know if I have an urgent situation. My neck is sore on the OUTSIDE of my throat. I feel it a little bit when I move my head, but mostly it is tender if I press on it. The tenderness is on both sides (not so much directly in the center) and is most sensitive at the 2nd finger width above my collar bone. This is the 3rd day I have noticed this. Yesterday and today in the evening, my face feels flush (starting about 8PM) and I m a little chilled, but my temperature is just 98.9. I checked the symptoms wonder if I am coming down with something and should wear a mask when I travel this weekend. BUT, when I put my symptoms in the webMD symptom checker it immediately responds that you should seek emergency treatment immediately if you have neck pain. I didn t think this was that serious, but now need some better guidance. Do I need to see a doctor before I leave town for a week?
In my opinion, you might have cervical spondylosis or disc prolapse or cervical stenosis. You are advised to have X-ray cervical spine. And yes, of course, you must visit a doctor as soon as possible.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
