What Causes Sore Patch On Throat?

Hi, I have noticed a sore patch on my throat. I have had part of my thyroid removed many years ago . I also need to clear my throat often and have soreness in the lump area with certain actions like yawning. I have had a slight cough for a few months, but it's more annoying than anything. I have wheezing in my throat, but I mainly notice that when resting. Can you help me please, I am worried about going to my doctor with something new as I have had many problems of late. Thank you, Susan.

Thanks for your query. I have gone through your query.
The sore patch can be because of the fungal infection like candidiasis. Nothing to be panic, consult a oral physician and get it evaluated. If it is confirmed as candidiasis, you can take topical antifungal agents like clotrimazole. Do saline gargling.
I hope i have answered your query. Take care.
