What Causes Sore Shoulder And Chest, Dizziness, Heart Thumping For A Diabetic?
Hi Dr. I m a 63year old male with 4 years of type 2 diabetes 84 kg medium hight. BP 145/83, on daily Natrilix and Diabex 1000mg SR x 2. Some retinopathic bleeds and Parietal for GERDS. I am under stress from external business factors and sleeping poorly for weeks, no meds for this. Yesterday during walking (3km a day) I started feeling a sore shoulder and chest, dizzy and heart thumping. Sat down and waited then walked on. Some ache came back half hour later.
The symptoms are those of typical post-exertion angina, which heralds early stage of heart disease as a long-term diabetic complication.
You therefore need to undergo an ECG, ECHO and TMT/Stress Thallium test to confirm coronary artery disease.
Consult your Cardiologist and apprise him of my opinion. I am certain that he will agree with me, order the required tests and will prescribe appropriate treatment, if required.
