Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello, I had a wisdom tooth removal a 6 days ago, after that I had a sore throat, and when I swallowed it hurt, but now it does not hurt anymore, when I swallow. So I dont feel any pain anymore.
However, when I look from the outside into my throat I can see that there is a line of blood along my throat.
The wounds of the wisdoom tooth are all okay, the dentist checked it and all good, but he couldnt explain the blood in the throat. Any ideas? What should I do now? Go to the hospital? Or wait a few days and see if it changes?
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain sore throat after wisdom tooth extraction is not an abnormal finding as the area of wisdom tooth is close to throat and inflammation caused due to extraction in the area can cause inflammation in the throat are....
A line of blood in the throat as of now is due to residual inflammation in throat and as the pain and difficulty in swallowing has subsided, you need not to worry as it will subside soon..
As of now you should do war saline gargles and avoid very hot and spicy foods.. In case if there is any exaggeration in symptoms consult a Physician and get evaluated..
Hope this information helps..
Regards..
