What Causes Sore Throat Along With Blood While Spitting Mucus?

My husband has had a sore throat and on and off cold symptoms for approx. a month. Today he noticed blood when he spit mucus out, he doesn t believe it s coming from the lungs only his throat which has been very sore for the last couple days. He went to the doctor 3 weeks ago and was told it was just a cold (fluids,bedrest, etc)

I really appreciate your concern for your husband this could be allergic condition if does not have any associated symptoms like, fatigue, loss of weight, and appetite, in my opinion just wait for some time, if this long last then condition need to be brought to investigations, else this is nothing to worry, hope this information helps, take care.
